One of the main goals of the Freedom School curriculum was to create well rounded, civically engaged African American leaders through education about their past and the social structures that were affecting their future. Supporters nationwide donated books and other school supplies to help advance that mission. This brochure is an example of the literature that was disseminated nationwide to solicit support.
